Robert Sharpe

SHARPE Robert "David" Passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 5, 2009 at Crossroads Hospice, Port Moody after a long and valiant battle against prostate cancer. David was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, England on February 6, 1944. He immigrated to Canada in 1966 and was a loving and devoted husband for 40 years to Barbara. They married in 1969 (family was everything to him). Missing him dearly are his children, Michelle (Roberto), Lisa (Pablo) and Marc. He enjoyed spending time with his four special grandsons, Nicolas, Liam, Lucas and Adam and his only granddaughter Lauren who were his inspiration to carry on. He also leaves behind his brothers, John (Marie) and Ronald (Cheryl) and his faithful companion, "Coco". After retirement from Shelter Industries, he travelled extensively and will be missed by friends all over the world. A special thank you to Jenny and Catherine of Fraser Health for your continuous support and compassion shown to David. David touched so many people in his private and professional life, especially his friends in Tianjing, China who he had formed a "special bond". He will be truly missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crossroads Hospice in Port Moody. Memorial service will be held at Burkeview Chapel, 1340 Dominion Avenue, Port Coquitlam on Saturday, September 12th at 10:00 am.
