I am so sad to hear of Sharon's passing. I am so appreciative of Sharon's fine work on researching and documenting the Haggerty family history. My brother Bob and I visited her in Vancouver several years ago where she gave us leads on our Kerr family history. Our grandmother was Alice Ann Haggerty and she grew up on the Haggerty farm outside Belleville Ontario. Unfortunately she passed away when our father was very young.
Sharon left a wonderful legacy of the Haggerty family history for future generations.

I was so sorry to hear of Sharon's death. I met her through genealogy and we got to meet personnally the year before she went to Ireland. She helped me in my search for my family as I am connected through the Bateman's.

I am very distantly related to Sharon, and she and I corresponded about our mutual Haggerty connection, and in particular, Jane Smith (my relative) who married John Haggerty (her relative) in 1864 in Hastings County, Ontario, Canada. She was so knowledgeable and freely shared her wealth of genealogical knowledge of the Haggerty family with me. Together, we solved some mysteries about this branch of our families. I am truly saddened to hear of her passing, but feel very blessed that I had the short window of opportunity to share information with her. My sincere condolences to her family.

I cant believe we were not aware of Sharon's illness and we will miss her terribly. She was the sort of person that was always there and willing to help with our Family History. May she rest peacefully.

I'm so shocked and saddened to hear of Sharon's passing. I have always been impressed with her level of genealogical research and her dedication to researching her Irish roots. She encouraged many of us to have DNA testing and diligently interpreted the results, enabling us to "draw the circle wide". Our great-grandmothers werre Meredith sisters.

She was one of those special people who made me feel smart. Whether in conversations or in feedback on papers, I got the message that what I was doing was important and, to my surprise but clearly not to Sharon's, I was actually good at it. A most generous person. My condolences to her family.

Sharon organized the science education panel for the first conference of the Society for Canadian Women in Science, SCWIST, in 1983. She contributed to our research project on girls and science and technology in the classroom. I think her early participation contributed to her career as a pioneer in science education and gender equity. With deepest sympathy to the family.

I have been remembering the times we shared in Sask Hall residence at the University of Saskatchewan (Saskatoon) in 1959-61. Sharon was the reliable friend who came down the hall with a cheery wake-up call every morning.
One lovely summer as students we were privileged to live in the Haggerty home on College Avenue in Regina.
I admired Sharon's ability to set high goals and achieve them.
She was a brave and courageous woman.
I send my sincere wishes of sympathy to her family.
