Mario VERDICCHIO

VERDICCHIO _ Mario, born in Naples, Italy on July 2, 1925, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2002. Mario arrived in West Vancouver in 1965 directly from Naples. He came to Canada to join his mother Assunta and his brothers Gino, Alfredo, Vincenzo, Joseph and Franco. On his arrival, Mario began working with his brothers, establishing Peppi's Restaurant at Dundrave Pier in West Vancouver. He is survived by his wife Elda, who was at his side, as she had been throughout his illness. His hand in hers _ he opened his eyes one last time to say his final goodbye. He is also survived by his brothers Franco and Vincenzo; sisters Mena, Tina and Maria; sons Pasquale, Alfredo and Marco, their wives Liesbeth, Deborah and Leann. He will be greatly missed by his grandchildren Mara, Gabriela, Giuliano, Natalie, Melissa and Teo. He will be in our hearts, forever. Special thanks to the doctors and staff at Lions Gate Hospital for all their care. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 2347 Inglewood Ave., West Vancouver on Monday, June 3rd, 2002 at 10:30 am with burial following at Capilano View Cemetery in West Vancouver.
