Sharon Frost Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun from Mar. 3 to Mar. 4, 2006.
FROST _ Sharon Lynn (nee Mosheim) April 2, 1941 - February 21, 2006 With great sadness her family announces that Sharon, beloved wife and mother passed away peacefully at home after a courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her parents and daughter Michelle, she is survived by Mike, her loving husband of 43 years, son Greg, extended family and countless friends. Growing up in West Vancouver, Sharon was loyal, adventurous, loving and much loved. Her zest for life drew people to her. Boating, fishing, skating, riding, flowers, loons at the cabin in the Caribou, waves at Tofino, her heritage home and farm in Langley and most of all her family, friends and animals were all loved with a passion. Sharon was a renowned horsewoman and an accomplished and well-respected breeder of Sport Horses. Special thanks to Sharon's doctors, nurses and care workers who eased her journey. No service by request. A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring when her flowers bloom. Donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.

Sharon will never be forgotten by our family. She was always so kind and hospitable & I have so many fond memories of our visits to the farm. I hope she has reconnected with my daughter Kristy who recently passed away as a special bond was formed. Forever in my heart Sharon.

We send our deepest sympathy to you both. Sharon was a lovely lady and we will all miss her greatly. She had such a positive attitude right to the very end. Stan & I were so glad we were able to visit with her one last time in the hospital. We know she will leave a big void in every persons life that knew her. She was greatly loved.

Dear Mike & Gregg: How proud you must be that your wife and mother had such a profoundly positive effect on so many people. She chose to handle her own challenges by giving freely to others. Sharon spread optimism like seeds in a garden! I benefitted greatly from her council during my struggles. She will remain my inspiration to try and "give back" whenever I can.

Dear Mike, I am so sorry to hear of Sharon's passing. I will always remember our rides in the black convertible, her electric blue eyes and that infectious laugh. We spent many Saturdays riding those two half trained chestnut horses at the stables, before we had any thoughts of ever having our own. She was a delightful companion. Arlene Halstrom

Dear Mike and Greg,

So sorry for your loss of such a wonderful wife and mother. Sharon was always so thoughful and kind - such an inspiration to others. She leapt from one adventure to another with her typical zest for life. She excelled at everything she did as she was so gifted and talented. Unselfish and generous - always helping others and never asking for a thing in return. Life will not be the same without her, but I will remember Sharon for her qualities and know how much richer my life has been for having known her.

Dear Mike and Greg,

I was so sad to hear of the passing of Sharon. She was such a kind, caring and warm person. I will never forget all of the visits to the farm as a child and teenager. It was wonderful being able to spend time with her and attend the horse shows. She will be greatly missed. My thoughts are with the two of you

I was so sad to hear about the loss of such a wonderful woman. I always looked forward to visiting Mike and Sharon and have many happy childhood memories of the times I spent at the farm in Aldergrove. Sharon was always so kind and patient with me and with my sisters and brother and I will always remember the week I stayed with Mike and Sharon and all the fun I had swimming, and riding her beautiful horses. My thoughts are with Mike and Greg at this time of such a great loss.

We offer our sincere condolences to Mike and his son Greg on the passing of their wife and mother, Sharon. We will always remember Sharon as a very gracious and generous hostess as well as a very beautiful and elegant lady.

The 100th anniversary of the Cornock House this last summer was a wonderful event for the heritage community as well as for the Cornock family who had originally resided there, and Sharon presided over the celebration with great joy and dignity, sharing and showcasing her beautiful home and delightful surroundings with her friends and guests on a gorgeous summer's day.

Sharon showed herself to be very strong and very courageous throughout her life with her battle with cancer.

She will be remembered fondly - "A life well lived".

I feel it was an incredible privilege to have known Sharon, if only for a few years. We had so much fun with Sharon at the sport horse shows, and to me they just won't be the same without her. Sharon loved her critters and her gardens, she loved her friends and her family, and we all loved her back. It is with great sadness and emptiness that we bid her farewell. Sharon we love you and will miss you always... love from Richard and Brendan

Wow, we were so shocked and saddened to hear of Sharon's passing. It seems only yesterday I was a little girl, looking forward to visit Mike and Sharon with my family. I will always remember Sharon's kind face, and warm demeanour.

Sharon and Mike were always very helpful to my husband Glenn, letting him photograph their chickens, roosters and horses for hours on end.

Our thoughts are with Mike and Greg at this very sad time.

I knew this wonderful woman for 30 years and enjoyed her company for all of that, as she was a happy person whose light of enthusiasm was contagious. Always a person whose glass was half-full, not half-empty, her determined optimism carried her through many trials and tribulations that would have sent most people into a seriously deep funk. But not Sharon. Life taught her, and she taught me, to respect and honor what is important and to eliminate the unimportant to the trash heap. Sharon was an inspiration to us all as she "battled the beast" (her own words for her fight against the big C)for years and years. Her spirit was indomitable and upbeat, ALWAYS. An awful lot of people are going to miss her friendship.

I am at a loss for words at the sadness I feel for the Frost family, with the passing of a most beautiful, loving and gifted woman.

Sharon's passion for her horses, especially Cedar, always left me feeling quite inadequate beside her. I was fortunate enough to have worked with her, and her horses, and I know she lived her life to the fullest, even when she was at her worst. Sharon wouldn't want anyone to feel sad, but I do. I know she is in heaven, where there is no pain and illness. I know she will be most sadly missed.

Dear Mike: I think I knew Sharon before even you did as she just lived the block above me. I remember playing with her in the old Spencer orchard which of course long ago was sacrificed for "development". Sharon and I went back and forth to each others house many times. And then I remember boating with you two - Sharon always had animals with her, a dog, a cat, a hamster. I can still hear her great laugh. I am terribly sorry to hear of your and Greg's loss. Kindest regards
