William Kenneth (Ken) Hope June 29, 1943 - September 27, 2014 Ken passed away peacefully early Saturday morning. He is survived by his wife, Sydney, of 48 years, his sons and their spouses Christopher and Sally, Michael and Marcia, and his grandchildren Mia and Oliver. He also leaves his siblings, Ruth and Bob.

Ken enjoyed a successful 40-year career as a stockbroker before accepting the proverbial gold watch of leisure, retirement, and a bounty of memorable experiences.

Always a thinker and strategizer, Ken was an avid card player, a crossword puzzles magician, and after discovering the iPad, an impossible to beat Words With Friends slayer.

Ken's love of games extended into the sports arena, where he used to coach his boys' soccer, hockey, and baseball teams.

More recently, if you ever needed to find Ken you'd only have to look to the greens of the West Vancouver Lawn Bowling Club, his home away from home.

He was always willing to give you the shirt off his back in work and life. Staying true to that idea he spent the last 16 years serving as both driver and dispatcher for the Freemason Volunteer Driver Program, a partnership with the Canadian Cancer Society in the Lower Mainland.

We'll miss you Hon, Dad, Pops, Grandpa.

Hello - so sorry to read of Ken's passing. I have lots of fond memories from the soccer field, Seattle soccer exchanges, fireworks in the yard. Though it's been many years since our days in the Cedardale neighbourhood, the memories seem so close. Our condolences.
