JOVANOVICH, Nikola
1937 - 2015
Nikola passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, at Royal Columbian Hospital on February 26, 2015 at the age of 77. He is survived by his loving wife Maria (Maca); daughters Teresa Bulic and Jacqueline (Renato) Augustinovic; grandchildren Iva Petrinjak, Nikola Bulic, Lucija and Andrija Oreskovic; great- granddaughter Daria Petrinjak; sister Matilda (Joe) Zupanich and siblings Jela Skender and Mile (Kaja) Jovanovic in Croatia; nephew Danny (Melissa) Zupanich and Katica (Petar) Suknaic as well as other family and friends in Croatia, Australia and the United States. Nikola was born in the village of Zitnik, Gospic, Lika, Croatia on March 13, 1937. He was a hardworking and kind-hearted man who put his family above all else and was well known in the Croatian community. He was proud to be the head European Sausage Maker at Vancouver Fancy Meats for over 30 years. He will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him. A special thank you to Dr. Joan Holman, Dr. Gerardo Carpenito and the Renal Dialysis Unit at Royal Columbian Hospital. Prayers will be offered on Wednesday, March 4 at 7:00 p.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Croatian Catholic Church, 3105 East 1st Avenue in Vancouver, where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 5 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment to follow at the South Mausoleum at Oceanview Burial Park in Burnaby, BC.
