Peter BROWN Obituary
June 30, 1956 - November 11, 2015
(Remembrance Day)
Passed suddenly, but peacefully, at his home on Bowen Island, a place that he loved, overlooking the water. Survived by his childhood sweetheart, loving wife and soul mate Andrea, Daddy to Oliver, his parents Don and Joyce Brown, sister Heather, and a large extended group of family and close friends, who all loved him dearly. Peter had over 45 years in the Tow Boat Industry, starting his career at Kleaman Towing in False Creek, followed by Broughton Towing, then becoming a Vessel Master for the Department of Fisheries & Oceans, Rivtow Straits, Cates & Seaspan, as well as making many happy memories on the boats he loved, The Forest Surveyor and 4 Pete's Sake. Peter was larger than life: a hardworking, solid, salt of the earth, gentle man. A teddy bear and "The Harbourmaster of Columbine Bay," he had a lifelong love of being in or on the water, and following a private cremation will be returned to the Sea. He will be dearly missed. Celebration of Life to be held Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 11:00 - 15:00 at Sage Restaurant, 6331 Crescent Rd, UBC Campus, Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Children's Wish Foundation of Canada on Peter's behalf would be sincerely appreciated.

I just heard the news of Peters passing today. 4 years late. Peter was a good friend but we lost touch over the years. We wrote our captains papers together and then Peter joined Fisheries for a while so we plied the waters of North and Central coast together. Ill miss ol Crusty. Im still quite shocked at the news. Rest Well Peter.
