Zora Josephine Feran, 94, of Camarillo, Calif., passed away on the 5th of February, 2013, of congestive heart failure at St. John's Pleasant Valley Hospital.
Zora was born the daughter of Ernest and Anna Willoughby in Henderson, Mich., on October 30, 1918. She was married to Pedro Facundo Feran on February 10, 1940, in Oakland, Calif. She spent her working career in the electronics and bookkeeping fields. Zora was an avid artisan, focusing primarily on copper enameling and cloisonne as well as toll painting and needle crafts. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley Garden Club and the Camarillo Christian Women's Club. Zora was often found perusing craft fairs, attending programs at the Camarillo Library and Senior Center, and shopping at her favorite clothing store, Draper's and Damon's. She is survived by her brother, Leigh Willoughby of Virginia; and two daughters, Adela Feran and Kathleen Broder. Zora leaves behind nine grandchildren: Ashton, Paul, Gresham, Abe, Danielle, Martin, Ashley, Erin, and Joey, as well as four great-grandchildren: Gabriel, Talia, Owen, and Athena. Zora was laid to rest beside her husband at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma, Calif., on February 13, 2013. A memorial service will be held in her honor at the Conejo Mountain Memorial Park on Wednesday, February 20, at 2 p.m. If you would like to pay your respects by attending, please RSVP at [email protected] or 405-4413. I will greatly miss Zora. She has been a patient for years and we always had such nice visits while I cleaned her teeth. She was so proud of her family and even shared music c-ds with me. May God give you comfort after this loss of such and sweet talented women. With heartfelt sympathy, Susie
