Juanita Thompson Obituary

1926 - 2012 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Juanita Thompson. Juanita passed into the loving arms of Jesus on November 21, 2012, with her family by her side. Her cheerful and positive attitude touched the lives of many.

She will be sadly missed by her children, Evelyn (Ron), Richard (Karen), Deborah (Jim), Gordon (Gail); grandchildren; great grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon in 1999. Juanita had many friends at the Ventura Marina Mobile Home Park and most recently the Bonaventure who will dearly miss her and her happy smile. Special thanks to everyone on staff of the Coronary Care Unit at CMH.

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012, 10 a.m. at the Ted Mayr Funeral Home, 3150 Loma Vista Road in Ventura. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, in Ballard on Monday, December 3, 2012. Arrangements are under the direction of the Ted Mayr Funeral Home and Crematory. Condolences may be left at TedMayrFuneralHome.com.

Not sure what to say?

The death of my Great Grandmother was a horrible day for me. I was heartbroken and upset. I wrote this poem to say how
I really feel.

Juanita

Great Grandmothers are always here to comfort you,
No matter what you do.
They dry your tears; help you conquer your fears,
And say they will love you for all your years.

Mine always told me to give it my all,
To never give up, even if I fall.
She was always there when I needed a friend
And time with her I loved to spend.

Oh that day, that horrible day,
The day I was informed and I had much dismay.
I didn't know what to say or do,
I was sad and heartbroken and didn't know if I could push through.

it was depressing and I couldn't help but cry.
My tears were like rain, I felt like I could just die.
I miss her so much; I wish she was here,
But even though she's gone, I still hear her whisper "I love you" in my ear

My heart is heavy with sadness along with family and friends who were touched by Grandma's beautiful spirit.
Today is the celebration of her life.
Grandma had a very positive outlook on life. Her smile and love of life lit up a room. She would want us to remember happy times.I would like to share a few with you.
Rene,Nicole,Michelle and I drove out to Calif to visit with Grandma & Grandpa many years back when the girls were younger. We had such a great visit doing so many fun things.
I have to laugh as one day Rene drove our truck down onto the beach as we went for a drive.Right behind us comes grandpa driving his Impala onto the sands of Pismo Beach with a big grin on his face until he realized the tide would soon come in.
One year they drove 6 1/2 hours out to San Francisco in the rain, for a 3 day visit just to show my friend and I around.I knew how difficult the drive was.
Many years later after both grandpa and
Rene have passed on,i went to grandma's to spend 3 weeks with her.We shared so much about our lives, as she included me in her very busy life of shuffleboard,Bingo,Bunko, and playing cards with her many wonderful friends.I was in awe of the Ocean i love so much. She booked a boat tour she had been on one time too much already.
Grandma helped me through some very hard times in a way no on else could. I laugh as i remember the day when i could not keep up to her busy life and fell asleep at her table while we were played cards.I Can't forget the Halloween Dance with us on stage.
Grandma was caring, loving and generous. She would knit, sew, donate to her charities.I had no idea how she never missed sending a card for someone's birthday. There were many of them.
The family was so blessed when she came to Winnipeg for Thanksgiving this year and most of her children, grandchildren were able to join us.I was thrilled when she phoned me a few weeks before her visit telling me she would be staying an extra week because she was so excited to be here for my daughter Michelle's wedding. She had made a needlepoint picture framed for both my daughter's wedding gifts.Nicole had married in July.Beautiful and lots of work!
These are a few of many ways my grandma touched my life..If she did not say"I Love Ya",you knew by the gleam in her eyes.
Thank you God for letting us have her for awhile.
I Love You Grandma.I will miss you ,but know you are near.Every time i see a Butterfly,i will think of you and smile. You will always have a special place in my Heart.
Much Love,
Lisa

A wise person taught me that in tough tragic times, we must pick ourselves up and move forward, "We are made of strong stuff". That wise person is you , Grandma. Thanks ever so much.

Grandma, I will miss you dearly. Love you so much and have many memories of you.

Dear Santa,
I'm writing you this letter as I'm feeling a little blue, so I hope you don't think I am asking too much of you.
You visit every year & leave everyone such wonderful things, but I'm wondering If you also visit our loved ones who have wings ?.... I know you must be busy, so much to do all in just one night, but could you please make an extra special trip to the stars that shine so brigh
t ?
You see we all have special loved ones too perfect for life on earth, no presents could we send them to truly show their worth.
So could you please leave them all a gift & put a stocking on their cloud, filled full of precious presents from their loved ones on the ground. Please stroke their sleepy heads, tell them that their families love them so, that their hearts ache with sadness & their tears just seem to flow.
If you could do this for me Santa, their families might be able to smile, even if it is just for a tiny little while.
So thank you very much Santa for everything you do, after all its Christmas up in heaven too.
