Lupe Viveros Aguilera Obituary

Lupe Viveros Aguilera, 62, beloved wife, mother, nani, sister, tia, cousin and friend went home to the Lord on Sunday, May 18, 2014. Lupe was born in Mercedes, Texas on February 19, 1952 to Aurora and Alfredo Viveros; she was the fifth of seven children.

In 1953, the family moved to Sanger, a city in Fresno, CA, where Lupe spent most of her childhood. In 1967, they moved to Ventura County and made Santa Paula their home. Lupe attended Santa Paula High School, and met Joe Aguilera of Oxnard during a field trip to UCSB. Lupe and Joe married in 1969, made their home in Oxnard and began building a family that flourished to include six children, five girls and one boy, and 16 grandchildren.

Lupe's life revolved around her love for her family. She was one to give wholeheartedly without expecting anything in return. Lupe's kind, giving spirit made her such an easy person to talk to and a joy to be around. She nurtured beautiful relationships with all members of her family, from her cherished sister-in-laws to her many nieces and nephews whom she held dear to her heart. Lupe was preceded in death by her parents Aurora and Alfredo, grandson D'Angel, sister-in-law Alice, honorary Godson Marcus, and granddoggy Nikki.

Lupe is survived by her husband of 44 years, Joe Aguilera, their six children Elaine, Tricia (Michael), Teresa, Joe Louis, Lisa and Suzie, and fifteen grandchildren Samantha, Pops, Mikey, Teo, JoeJoe, Ayla, Jacob, Jeremy, Joshua, Brielle, Mia, Tiara "Dora", Vincent, Joey and Maximus. She is also survived by siblings Toa, Carmen (Alex), Ruben (Maria), Gabriel (Lenora), Jesse (Sally) and Aurora (Al), as well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

"I little knew that morning God was going to call your name. In life I loved you dearly, in death I do the same. It broke my heart to lose you, you did not go alone, for part of me went with you, the day God called you home. You left me beautiful memories your love is still my guide, and though we cannot see you, you're always at my side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one, the chain will link again."

Visitation is scheduled from 3 to 9 p.m. with a memorial service and rosary scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 27th at Reardon Funeral Home, 511 N. A Street, Oxnard.
