Francis D. Brown Park Service Employee Francis D. Brown was born to Dick and Lela Brown on June 4, 1932 in Billings Oklahoma. Francis passed away at home in Visalia surrounded by his loving family on Monday evening December 10, 2012. He served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict from 1950 to 1953 receiving an honorable discharge. He married Mary J. (Siler) Brown on August 25 1954. With the California Division of Forestry he was a bulldozer operator cutting in fire lines at forest fires through out the state of California. In 1961 the family moved to Three Rivers, Dad as the resident fireman serving the community. On January 11, 1964 he and Mom bought the Three Rivers Market and later Skyway Liquor and Sporting Goods. In 1971 he went back to what he was absolutely the best at, a heavy equipment operator eventually becoming a co- owner of Beige Construction. He retired from the Sequoia National Park Service in 1996. Francis was a long time member of the Three Rivers Lions serving the Three Rivers community. He was preceded by his wife Mary, son Douglas, father Dick Brown, mother Lela Brown, and sisters Shirley Gammon and Sue Smelser. He is survived by wife Carol Brown, son Michael (Theresa) Brown of DeKalb, IL, son Clayton (Kathy) Brown of Three Rivers, CA, daughter Jeanne (Gary) White of Three Rivers, daughter Carolann (Mark) DeMoss of Los Banos, daughter Janice Eastburn of Visalia, and daughter Julie Eastburn of Santa Clara, eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. There will be a private graveside ceremony. A celebration of life will be held at the White Horse Inn, all who knew Francis are invited to attend Sunday, December 23, 2012 at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate a donation to the Tulare County Hospice c/o Francis Brown, 900 W. Oak Ave. Visalia, CA 93291. Jeanie, so sorry for the loss of your dad. He was a very nice man. I remember when Chuck and I got our RV stuck in the snow in the mountains many years ago and your dad was the one who helped get us out and his crew...The kids were little, and I was so thankful! God bless you all...

The Browns always treated me like one of their kids. Francis was a great guy. I will miss his good stories. Rest in Peace.
