JOE EDWARD BALDWIN July 15, 1949 - March 6, 2013 Joe Edward Baldwin, 63 of Tulare passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 with his family by his side. Joe was born on July 15, 1949 in Salinas, California, to Joe and Mae Baldwin. He grew up in Soledad, California before his family moved to the central valley where he attended and graduated from Riverdale High School. After high school, Joe decided to pursue his education and his love for football at Coalinga Junior College (West Hills Junior College). Joe definitely loved the social component of college, and his success in football led to a recent induction into the West Hills Junior College Hall of Fame. Joe then enlisted in the United States Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. Joe worked in maintenance his whole life and was known to be a "Jack of All Trades". He retired in 2010 after working 23 years at Haagen Dazs in Tulare, California. Joe's love for the outdoors started at a young age and continued throughout his entire life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and loved to camp with his friends that he always referred to as his "second family". Joe was a loving son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his mother, Mae Baldwin, his wife, Mary Nunes Baldwin, his daughter, Michelle Baldwin Nunley and her husband, Greg, son Thomas Baldwin and his wife, Amy, and 9 grandchildren, Brayden Nunley, Barrett (Bear) Nunley, Blaze Nunley, Braxton Nunley, Bellajah Nunley, Romello Harris, Haley Baldwin, Reese Baldwin, and Quinn Baldwin, all of Tulare. Joe was proceeded in death by his father, Homer Edward (Joe) Baldwin, and his brother, Larry Baldwin. Visitation will be held at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel at 127 East Caldwell Avenue in Visalia, California on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Salser and Dillard Funeral Chapel, with burial afterwards at the Tulare Cemetery. Edward: Cousin, thanks for so many good childhood memories. You taught me how to shoot a pistol (I thought I was Annie Oakley), to fish (even though you had to always put the worm on the hook!), going to Santa Cruz and you talking me into riding the scary roller coaster (did you ever regret that with me screaming in your ears!) Love Bea

Thank you Joe for helping to keep the plant up and running, from the very start of the plant and down through the many years. The Haagen-Dazs plant gleaned a lot from your skills. And thank you for working on that darn lab front door. Rest in peace our friend.
