George Cruz Cabrera George Cruz Cabrera, 73 of Ivanhoe, California passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012 in Visalia, California. George was born in Tulare, California on May 2, 1939 to Filiberto A. and Emma Cabrera. His family moved to Visalia when he was a small child where he was raised and educated, attending Carrie Barnett and Crowley Elementary. George graduated from Visalia High School (Redwood High School) in 1958. He married Trinidad (Trini) Sandoval on June 28, 1958 in Tulare, California and they made their home in Visalia, California. They had a home built in Ivanhoe, California in 1972 which became their permanent residence to raise their family. He worked for Wheeling Pacific as a Shipping Clerk for over 34 years, retiring in 1992. George then worked for Hamilton Ranches, also as a shipping clerk plus several other jobs. He enjoyed gardening - working in his yard and on his sprinklers. George had a great sense of humor and loved to help those in need in any way he could. He was a strong willed yet caring and humble man with a quiet peaceful spirit. George will be greatly missed by his family and those who knew and loved him. George was preceded in death by his wife, Trini Cabrera; his son, Georgie A. Cabrera; his parents, Filiberto and Emma Cabrera and three brothers: Robert, Pedro and Henry Cabrera. He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Freddie Rene Cabrera of Ivanhoe, California; his fiancé, Mary Grajeda of Fresno, CA; his grandson Jesse Cabrera and his great grandson, Carter Cabrera, both of Visalia; two brothers, Tony Cabrera of Tulare, California and Frank Cabrera of Visalia, California; sisters: Carmen Velasquez, Maggie Matta, Lorene Reynoso and Nancy Cabrera-Staton, all of Visalia, Mary Hernandez of Exeter, CA, Liz Moreno of Lindsay, CA and Jennie Jaramillo of Tulare, CA, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and his Pomeranian, Sierra Cabrera. Visitation will be held at Miller Memorial Chapel, 1120 W. Goshen Avenue of Visalia, California on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 from 3 - 6 p.m. Recitation of Rosary will follow at 6 p.m. at Miller Memorial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 1 pm at Holy Family Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Visalia District Cemetery.
