Albert V. Cotta

Visalia - Albert V. Cotta was born to Joe V and Ermelinda Cotta on June 9, 1924 on the ranch where he lived for 93 years. He was called home to heaven on May 8, 2018.

He met the love of his life Ann Smith at "The Plaza Dance Hall". They were married April 21, 1945 and again May 26, 1945. On their 60th wedding anniversary they renewed their wedding vows.

Through out his life he had may occupations. He was a dairyman, farmer, baker and ditch tender. Most importantly, he was a volunteer fireman for over 50 years in Goshen and serving as fire chief during some of those years. He founded the Tulare County Sherriff's Aero Squadron Search & Rescue with Sol Sweet. He was also known as the most famous bartender at the PPAV Hall.

He is survived by his daughters, Linda Perry, Cheryl Faria (Dan), Karen Avila, Diane Rader (Bobby), Kathleen Soria, (Ephraim), and son-in-law Kelly Black. His loving sister, Hilda Ennes, brother-in-law, Lewis Smith, 15 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Cotta, parents, Joe V and Ermelinda Cotta, brothers Joe V. Cotta Jr and Edwin V. Cotta, sisters, Lillian Craverio and Lorraine Gomes.

Visitation will be held at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel located at 127 E. Caldwell, Visalia on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the Rosary to be prayed at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Thursday, May 17, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 608 N. Church, Visalia continuing to Visalia District Cemetery for internment. Immediately following will be a reception at the PPAV Hall, 820 E. Main St., Visalia. Condolences can be made to www.salseranddillard.com
