Larry Kincade

Mansfield - Larry Kincade, 73, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2018, surrounded by family. A Celebration of Life will be held in the chapel at Tulare First Baptist Church on Saturday, January 19 at 1:00 p.m.

Larry was born in Tulare on April 3, 1945 to Tony and Eunice Kincade. He grew up on the family cotton farm and graduated from Tulare Western High School in 1963. He graduated from San Jose State University in 1969.

Larry settled in Anaheim where he married Grace Dibble in 1976, and they welcomed their first two children, Christy and Travis. In 1981 he moved the family to Visalia where, their third child, Grant, was born. Larry farmed for several years then spent nearly two decades as a store manager for Thrifty Drug (now Rite Aid)until his retirement in 2007. During their time in Visalia, Larry and his family were active in the Visalia United Methodist Church. He was proud of his service to the community through his long-time membership in the Visalia Host Lions Club, and served as president from 1993-1994.

After his retirement, Larry and Grace moved to Mansfield, Texas to be near their grandchildren. Shortly after, with Larry and her family by her side, Grace lost her long battle with breast cancer.

In 2009, Larry married Barbara Coombs Whitney. They made a home together in Mansfield where they enjoyed time with family, nature, and traveling around the U.S.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, Tony Kincade, and wife, Grace. Those of us that will continue to hold him close to our hearts are: His mother, Eunice (McCollum) Kincade; sister, Linda Verissimo (Paul); wife, Barbara; daughter, Christy Whitman (Brad); son, Travis Kincade (Adrianne); son, Grant Kincade (Justine); stepson Barry Cole (Peggy); and grandchildren, Abigail, Aubrey and Bryce Whitman; Logan and Cole Kincade; Addison and Noah Kincade; as well as many nephews, cousins, and friends that were dear to his heart.
