Robert Edward Hoth

Visalia - VISALIA - Robert E. "Bob" Hoth passed away peacefully on Friday August 10, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Bob was born in Los Angeles, California on November 10, 1929. He was one of two children born to Frederick William and Mary Hoth. He graduated from Manual Arts High School in Los Angeles. Bob began his career in the printing business at the Apex Press Printing Shop. This was where Bob met the love of his life, Carol Ann Dempsey. Carol would walk by the shop on her way to school or on her way to the dime-store where Bob would shout "Howdy" as she passed by. The rest is history. Bob was drafted into the Army on February 16, 1951. He married Carol on May 3, 1952. Bob and Carol moved to Texas where he was stationed after they were married until he was released from active duty and transferred to the Army Reserve on February 17, 1953. Bob and his wife Carol settled in Long Beach, California where he was working at Schwabacer Frey as a printer. Bob's company transferred to Visalia, California in 1966 where he relocated with his wife and their 3 children. Bob was a resident of Visalia for 52 years. Bob had many hobbies such as masonry and wood-working which was very intricate and detailed. Bob's passion later in life was his collection of unique watches. He got very excited every time a U.P.S. truck would pull up to his house. Bob loved life, sitting on his patio with family, neighbors, & friends relaxing and enjoying a good cigar and each others company. Bob is survived by his younger sister Janet Santoro of Visalia, his children Sharon (Alan) Girton, Lori (Rick) Tucker, & Barbara (Greg) Uichanco all of Visalia, His grandchildren Amy Nelson, Michael Girton, Robbie Girton, Ashley Girton, Lindsey Porter, Jacob Porter and 11 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Fred and Mary Hoth and his wife Carol Hoth. The family would like to extend their gratitude to Casa Granda Senior Care for the wonderful care they provided Bob in his final years. Also the family would like to thank Dr. Pap and Dr. Stan Feil for the special medical care they provided and a "special" thank you to Dr. Aditya Verma, who gave Bob many extended years of life.
