Dr. Alan Dzung-Van Le M.D. Obituary
Dr. Alan Dzung-Van Le M.D. Alan Dzung-Van Le, M.D. passed away peacefully on June 29, 2014 due to a prolonged illness at the age of 68. Dr. Le was born on August 5th, 1945 in Vietnam, the eldest of six children. He grew up in a country riddled with turmoil and conflict. Alan served his compulsory service as a doctor with the 9th Southern Army Division in Vietnam, often travelling in combat places where shelling and bullets are commonplace. Despite the harrowing challenges of living under difficult circumstances and the chaos of war, he was luckily blessed with many admirable attributes that helped him achieve success. He was incredibly focused, ambitious and possessed a remarkable intellectual curiosity that fueled his natural desire to continue to enrich and educate himself down to his very last moments with us. These impressive qualities and more shaped him to be a true Renaissance Man. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of classical music and was fluent in Vietnamese, English, and French. He was an avid fisherman, nature lover, highly-skilled photographer, exceptional tennis player and member of the Tulare Condors RC Club. In addition to excelling in medicine and the medical sciences, he was also extremely well-versed in world history, astrophysics, philosophy, economics, Greek mythology, and many other classical subjects that he could access from his memory as instantly as any internet search engine. He was a loving husband and father, and very much the pillar of his large family. Of his many accomplishments, the most substantial and meaningful to him alongside his family, was his lifelong service to helping those in his community. In his 34 years living in Tulare County, he whole heartedly dedicated his life to his patients and their families. The compassion and light heartedness he exuded won the hearts of many of those around him, and those who knew him. As a family practitioner he took on many roles such as a friend, mentor, teacher, and volunteer at the local Boy Scouts, YMCA Camps, and community schools. Dr. Le is survived by his wife, Van Ha Le of Visalia, CA, his three children: Audrey Le of San Francisco, CA, Alex Le of San Diego, CA and Amanda Le of San Diego, CA. The visitation service will be held at Salser & Dillard Funeral Chapel in Visalia, CA on Wednesday, July 2nd from 1pm-4pm. In lieu of flowers, please make all monetary donations to: Kaweah Delta Hospital Foundation at 216 S Johnson St, Visalia, CA 93291 on behalf of Dr. Alan Le.
