John Michael Merell
Johnny's long brave journey with ALS ended February 15, 2021 at age 58. Johnny was born in Moses Lake Washington. He grew up in Southern California. Johnny was a proud graduate of Upland High. He went to work at Mer-Mar, Inc., and proudly working his way to a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at Cal State San Bernardino. He later purchased Mer-Mar,Inc. and ran it successfully until his illness forced him to retire. Johnny was an avid sports fan, ALL sports! He loved fishing and most of all playing golf. He was a die-hard Raiders fan. Johnny is survived by his wife Mika. Children Jasmene, Shelby, and Justin. Grandchildren Rylie, Eli, Ryan and Ivy. Father John K. Merell (Myrna), Sister Caron Brinkley (Chuck) Nieces Cristi Tutty and Ashley Greenhalgh (Cole). He was preceded in death by his Mother Pat Merell and Best Friend Shonda Noll. Throughout his entire journey with ALS Johnny always kept his great sense of humor and contagious smile. He was loved by many and will be missed tremendously.

Johnny was not only my boss, he was a close friend unlike any other. I was blessed the day you came into my life. We had so many great talks and great golf outings. I will never forget you & you will always have a place in my heart. Johnny you will be missed by all who knew you.

I have many memories of Johnny being my boss at Mermar. I remember one Christmas when he dressed like Santa Claus. I remember he would tease me being a Niners fan. I will hold these memories close to my heart. RIP Johnny
