Victorville - Shirley Wilson Davisson was born on February 28, 1930 in Upland, California. Shirley was the second son of Ray and Nellie Davisson. Shirley passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on March 21, 2021. Shirley was a lifelong resident of Victorville having moved from Upland at two years of age. Shirley spent his entire life in the High Desert residing in Victorville and Oro Grande, his father was the agent for the Santa Fe Railroad and as a result during his youth his homes were located near the railroad station. Shirley graduated from Victor Valley High School in 1948. Shirley excelled in all sports, especially in track and field. Shirley had a long standing record in the long jump which was not broken until the early 1970's. He was later involved in the Senior Olympics well into his 60's still setting records in his age group. Shirley was employed by Southwest Portland Cement for 42 years. Shirley spent most of his years with Southwest Portland Cement in Victorville was transferred Odessa, Texas then moved back to Victorville in the 1960's.
Shirley leaves behind his wife of 70 years Barbara J Davisson and sons Steven and wife Barbara, Teresa Moffett husband Michael, David and wife Stacie. Shirley also leaves behind grandsons, Brett, Kelly, Scott, Jason and Dillon, and granddaughter Katie. He also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, Callison, Gavin, Lucy, Penelope, Harper and Autumn. He was proceeded in death by his oldest daughter Catherine Davisson as well as his parents Ray and Nellie Davisson, brothers Jackson, David and Donald Davisson.
Services will be held at Victor Valley Mortuary at 11am on April 7, 2021, seating is very limited due to COVID
