Mrs. Myers (Vera Stemen) and my mom and other young women shared an apartment in Lima in early to mid1940s. I do not know whether they were classmates. My mother, Thelma, and my dad wrote letters, and the letters were saved and now are being archived since mom's death. Some of us are reading those letters which my sister is putting into binders., and there are quite a few letters between my then future parents. Of course, mom would write about the fun the ladies had and how they shared housework. At some point I could write you some of the comments, that would pertain to your mother, as I relocate them. Quite a few books of letters actually. After the war and through the 1950s at least we all did go to different houses at Christmas, another family in Lima. I am probably the eldest of the group although there was another Jane in another family. I recall going to Cridersville. --Hoersten family. I am providing my email address. My mother passed away Dec. 30, 2019. I know our moms kept in contact for years, and mom may have talked to you, Marilyn, in some recent years. May the souls of the faithful departed rest in peace.

Memories of Christmas visits in 1950s-60 to your home because my mom was friend and roommate prior to their marriages. I believe that mom Thelma Hoersten attended your mom's 90th birthday gathering. Mom does have photos from their outings/trips in early 1940s. My condolences. Sudoku was a mutual enjoyment. That's amazing. I find it too challenging. I am not sure that my mom does it much anymore. My sympathies to you and the family.
