Memories and Condolences
for James Stansberry

Not sure what to say?

I only met General Stansberry when I visited him with my father back in 1979. He and my dad were cousins and grew up together in WV. I shared some emails with Jim a few years back and he was very gracious and friendly. I just wanted to extend condolences from Bud Stansberry's children and grandchildren.

I worked for Jim Stansberry as his secretary at AFSC when he was a Colonel. He was the most gentle and kind person I know. He looked out for me at all times. It was a pleasure to work for him and I will always remember him. My prayers and thoughts are with the family at this time.

Please accept our deepest sympathy and condolences for your loss. Karen and I and our family had the pleasure of living across the Circle at Hanscom when General Stansberry was Commander of ESD, and we all remember him, Audrey, the player piano and the great parties. He was a wonderful man to work for, a true gentleman, delightfully brash, and a polished thespian. Please let us know when the burial services will be held.
