JACK KILGORE Obituary


Jack E. KilgorE (Age 81)  Lt. Col., U.S. Army (Ret.)  
Passed away of Parkinson's Disease on August 24, 2018 shortly after midnight in Alpharetta, GA. He was born on February 28, 1937 in Greenwich, OH. A Vietnam vet, he earned 2 Bronze Stars and 2 Meritorious Service Medals. He had a long military career in which he was with Special Forces, Airborne, the 2nd Infantry Division and was part of the NATO- SHAPE support group when it moved from France to Belgium. He served at Ft Lee, VA; Ft Benning, GA; Ft Bragg, NC; SHAPE, Belgium; the Pentagon and attended Command General Staff School at Ft Leavenworth, KS. He received his Bachelor's Degree at Akron University and his Master's Degree at Ohio State University. He is survived by his sister Marianne Newlon of Cuyahoga Falls, OH; his wife Rebecca Kilgore of Alpharetta, GA; his first wife Joyce Kilgore of Alexandria, VA and their children Jack E Kilgore II of Fort Myers, FL; Kimberly McCollum of Springfield, VA and Kelly Lunick of Lusby, MD; and five grandchildren. Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery.
