(Age 70)  

Of Oakton, Virginia, passed away peacefully with his wife and children at his side on the evening of February 2, 2012. He was the adored son of the late John Patrick and Frances Rose (Grillo) Nardella. John was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Altoona Catholic High School, he continued on to receive his Master Degree in Chemical Engineering from Penn State University.
John worked as a Professional Chemical Engineer for the Federal Government for the majority of his career and was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved his Italian heritage and most enjoyed sharing good meals and conversation while relaxing with his family and dear friends. He gave endless support, loyalty and kindness and passes on the everlasting gifts of a cherished family and unconditional love to his wife, children and grandchildren.
John is survived by his loving wife of forty-two years, Lana Paula Nardella (Barber); his beloved children John P. Nardella (Mindi), Christopher S. Nardella (Andrea), Ann M. Lloyd (Scott); his sister Nancy Marie Romagnoli; his nieces and nephews and 10 grandchildren, Abigail Mae, Claire Elizabeth, Samuel John, Christopher Alec, Ava Jean, Taylor McKenzie, Helena Therese, Edward Scott, Mark Henry, and Francesca Laura. He is also survived by his mother-in-law, Laura C. Ward.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Rd., Vienna, VA on Friday, February 8 at 2 p.m. Inurnment will follow in the church gardens columbarium.
