EUGENIA M. HARRIS  "Gigi"  
Eugenia M. "Gigi" Harris, born October 5, 1921 in Birmingham, Alabama to Dewey and Emma Murchison, died August 19, 2014 at her home in Nashville, Tennessee. Widow of Walter Rutland Harris, Sr., she is survived by her two children, Walter Rutland Harris, Jr. and Emmylou Harris; sister, Mary Anne Merrifield (Jim); Paul Kennerly; sisters-in-law Lois Harris and Marynell Murchison, nephew Armand Harris, Jr. (Charlotte), niece Becky Adams, nephew Alec Adams (Betty), nieces Eugenia Robinson, Debby Clough, Sandy Thompson, nephew Dee Murchison; grandchildren Hallie Slocum, Betsy Layton (Billy), Bucky Harris (Carrie), Abigail Lavin (Billy), Meghann Robern (Josh); great niece Emily Torre; great grandchildren Olivia Harris, Will Layton, Blythe Lavin, Rutland Harris, Bethany Layton, Prudence Robern, Ashley Layton, Key Harris, Noelle Layton, Louis Lavin, Percival Robern, and Wendell Lavin. She also leaves her beloved dog Ernie. Predeceased by her brother Dewey Murchison, Jr., brothers-in-law Edwin Adams, Armand Harris, J.D. Robinson, sister-in-law Louise Adams, daughter-in-law Gail Harris, nephews Mac Harris, Hamilton Adams, and Phill Robinson. Memorial service to be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (615 6th Ave. S, Nashville, TN 37203), Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 11 a.m. Interment service to be held at St. Mark's Episcopal Church (12700 Hall Shop Rd., Highland, MD 20777) Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 2 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to Bonaparte's Retreat (P.O. Box 150232, Nashville, TN 37215) and/or The Epilepsy Foundation (2002 Richard Jones Rd., Nashville, TN 37215).
