On Thursday, March 2, 2006. Beloved husband of La Verne E. Montgomery; loving father of Sandra Owusu-Ansah and Carl A. Montgomery. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Kisha, Corey, Andrew, Kenneth, Stacey and Vanessa; six great-grandchildren, two brothers-in-law, Ralph A. Jones and Rev. William Jones, Sr. (Jerretta); three nieces, Sheila, Patricia and Judy, a host of other relatives and many friends. On Wednesday, March 8, family will receive friends at Zion Baptist Church, 4850 Blagden Ave. N.W. from 9:30 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. Rev. Keith W. Byrd, Sr., Pastor. Rev. William Jones, Sr., officiating. Interment Maryland National Cemetery. Arrangements by WATSON'S FUNERAL HOME.

Mrs. Montgomery,
I wanted to let you know that I am deeply sorry about the lost of your husband. I have shared times with you and your husband you both have always made me feel like part of your family. I am a very good friend of your granddaughter Vennessea. To God Be the Glory for what he has done.

Mrs. Montgomery I am just finding out about your lost, today. I went to elementary and junior high school with your grandson Corey. I am truly sorry, and I just want you and your family to stay strong. I will keep you in my prayers.

Mrs. Montgomery my prayers are always with you and even more at this time. I will always cherish the Love you and Mr. Montgomery showed me and my kids, and when you and he would drop Shalonda and sometimes George off at school. I still remember when we all went to dinner after the Graduation. Mr. Montgomery will be greatly missed..Mrs. Montgomery stay strong, and I will be in touch for anything that I can do for you....
