Barbara was a great friend. We first connected through a mutual love of orchids, but our friendship broadened into a wide-ranging one, filled with love. We miss her every day.

It seems like the longer we live that more of our beloveds keep passing on to higher realms. The memory and resonance of my mother's dear childhood friend, Ms Barbara Brooks Jackson, still shines brightly. I wish you were here on earth to connect with Mom. Yet, I know you are looking out for her and remembering your friendship of eight decades from another dimension of this divine universe.

No matter how much time has passed, I still remember Barbara Brooks Jackson as my mother's childhood friend. We met on many occasions in Washington, DC and Maryland. If memory serves me correctly, she even visited my parents in the Clan of Fergus residence in Seattle, Washington. I can still see Ms Barbara's bright shining smile and recall her resonant voice and laughter. May her soul rest in eternal peace with Dad and the Ancestors, all my aunts, uncles and cousins who have gone on to higher realms. Mom misses your calls, cards and letters, and certainly the friendship you two had for more than 80 years. Though we were not related through DNA, you are and always have been family to me xoxo Kay

As time goes by, we still miss Barbara. I think about her every time I'm out working with my orchids. She was such a universal woman. We admired her strength, vast knowledge about almost anything, and a deep soul that always seemed to provide a helping hand to get through troubles and to accept winnings. We loved her as a truly unique woman whose like we have not since seen.

We just learned of Barbara's death through obit archives in the Washington Post. We were great friends and are grieving now. We knew Barbara and both her sisters. They were brilliant company and so kind. We will miss Barbara terribly. Love to all her family whom we never knew.

Barbara was an inspiration to me and my family during the time I knew her. A strong woman who would always say (and she was right) that she was the reason I stopped renting and used her realtor to buy a house. :-) The care she gave her sisters in their final years was such a testament to her love, strength and character. She was a great neighbor and a great friend. Although I had not seen her in several years she was thought of often. She is missed.

You were thought of "often", and will be missed "greatly". I used to carry her swim gear from her car to the Changing Room. I would love to have that honor again.
