LAWRENCE DANIEL MARCUS, M.D.
On Wednesday, January 8, 2020, LAWRENCE DANIEL MARCUS, M.D., of Rockville, MD. Beloved husband of the late Marlene Band Marcus, devoted father of Jeffrey (Laura), Mitchell (Adriana) and Michael (Lori) Marcus and Lauren (Jason) Kirsch. Dear brother of Gladys Novey and Gloria (Dan) Grabenstein. Loving grandfather of Melissa, Lindsey, Jason, Isabela, Matthew, Jacob. Alexa, Jonah and Ian Marcus and Sam, Alex, Ryan and Whitney Kirsch. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2020, 10:30 a.m. at Congregation Beth El of Montgomery County, 8215 Old Georgetown Rd., Bethesda, MD. Interment following at Garden of Remembrance Memorial Park, Clarksburg, MD. Shiva will be observed Saturday evening and Sunday at Ingleside at King Farm, Rockville, MD. Memorial contributions may be made to The Brain Aneurysm Foundation, 269 Hanover St., #3, Hanover, MA 02339. Arrangements entrusted to TORCHINSKY HEBREW HOME, 202-541-1001.

It is almost four years since Larry has gone, in that time his memory still lingers on. For 39 years he was our Dr.
My husband and I would always be greeted with a joke or small talk to cheer us as Larry was the best when it came to making us feel better.
I called him when Barry died, and we talked for what seemed hours. He often told us we were his favorite couple. He was our favorite doctor.
We moved away but would drop in to see Larry whenever we visited Maryland on our trips south.

Dr. Marcus was our doctor for about 10 years. He was a wonderful, empathetic, personable outstanding physician. We also got to know his late wife who ran his office. Doctors like him are rare and few and far between. Our prayers are with his family and loved ones.

Dr. Marcus was my doctor for almost 50 years. He was so kind and took all the time you needed at every appointment. I was so fond of both he and Marlene. He will be missed on this earth. Inez Bregger

Larry was my internist for more than 40 years. A wonderful and kind man, excellent doctor, always available, always caring and thoughtful. My thoughts and prayers to his family. He was the best!

Much love and many thoughts and prayers to all of you on the loss of your father and grandfather. Dr Marcus' impact on the real lives in his care, his friends and his wonderful family will not end on this date, but his legacy will only continue to grow through all of our lives blessed by him.

"Dr Larry" had a kind and gentle soul. We became more and more acquainted when Mom moved in to Ingleside. He was genuinely happy to befriend Mom and me, and when he saw me, he smiled and looked into my eyes. He told me in no uncertain terms that Mom was in the right place - words of compassion and comfort I will never forget. A longtime family friend and relative, it has been an honor to know Larry.
