On Friday, August 17, 2018, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of the late Barbara Louise Burns; father of Debra E. (Joe) Young, Diane E. Burns, and Carolyn M. Burns (Mechelle Munn); grandfather of Jacquelyn and Danielle Young; brother of Babette Johnson. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Wednesday, August 22, 2018, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral Service at Silver Spring United Methodist Church, 8900 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 11 a.m. Interment Parklawn Memorial Park. I am very sorry that I cannot attend the services, but my mobility is limited for now. Fred was one of my oldest friends and a very valued friend. I really believe that he is now with your mom. Every time I talked with Fred he mentioned how much he missed Barb and I am sure he also believed that he would eventually be with her. Treasure all the good times you all had as a family. I am thinking of you all at this time of the loss of your great father and my great friend. He will be missed.
