On Monday, November 5, 2018, of Silver Spring, MD. Beloved husband of 51 years to the late Sheila Jane Spieler; father of Kathryn A. Swain (R. Allan), William J. Spieler (Amber Bursik), Michael C. Spieler (Angelica Hernandez Herrera) and Jennifer M. Spieler; grandfather of Nathan A. and Zachary R. Swain, Josafat Aldair Rosas Hernandez, Jane G. Spieler-Hernandez, Ashley J. Spieler-Hernandez. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard, West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), on Wednesday, November 14 from 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 6701 Muncaster Mill Road, Derwood, MD, on Thursday, November 15 at 10:30 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Sorry to hear of Ray's death. A wonderful man, devoted husband to Jane. He and Jane were a very active couple in the " Marriage encounter program". He gave the longest, strongest sincerest hugs ever ! He will be missed by many. Mimi and Tom Cuddeback

i just heard that Ray has left us - he was a dedicated member of "JustUs" the Leisure World resident advocacy organization. He was our friend and strong supporter in pursuing the democratic rights of the senior residents. We will miss him and his wit.
