RHINA LIGIA CARMONA (Age 85)
On Thursday, January 31, 2019, of Silver Spring, MD formerly of Stratford, CT. Beloved wife of Guillermo Carmona; loving mother of Roberto (Lisa Brailey), Maria (Ari Fitzgerald) and the late Carlos Carmona. Grandmother of Pilar, Isel and Lourdes Fitzgerald and cousin Nicolas Fitzgerald-Shavers; sister of Maximo, Rafael Jose, and Arsenio Cano. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Sunday, February 3, 2019, from 2 to 4 PM. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 805 Wayne Avenue, Silver Spring, MD, on Monday, February 4, 2019 at 10 AM. Our Queen Rhina Carmona as I used to call her, my queen has showed me that there is always hope and the education is a key to be successful in life. I can say that it was my honor to be part of her caregivers team and took care of her for over a year. She was so smart and kind. She was such a caring wife and mother. We used to read books together, watched the news, cooked, listen to her favorite music & exercised. I can say that even though sometimes my drive will be almost two hours, the time a spent with her was priceless. I have learned so much from her. She always asked me about my son since she knew my son was autistic, always had good wisdom to share. I will miss you so much my Queen. Thank you for sharing your love, kindness, wisdom and cooking tips with me. You will be always in my heart!! I love you my Queen!

The mother of Carlos, the greatest friend I ever had, was like a second mother to me and one of the most compassionate, loving people I have ever know. I comforted knowing that she and Carlos are together in heaven.
