Robert Oliver Allen (Age 89)  
On Friday, January 18, 2019, of Silver Spring, MD. Born February 9, 1929 in Washington, DC to the late George W. Allen Sr. and Alma V. (Fischer) Allen. Beloved husband of the late Lieselotte "Liese" Hoettges Allen; brother of George W. Allen Jr. and the late Millard G. "Red" Allen; uncle of George W. Allen III, Robert G. Allen, Delma R. Davis and Janice L. Watrous. Also survived by companion Patsy Alder. A Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Germany. He was an active member of American Legion Post #268 (Past Commander), Wheaton, MD; Veterans of Foreign Wars #2562, Wheaton, MD; Moose Lodge #1475, Wheaton, MD; St. Alban Birmingham Lodge #233 AF & AM, Beltsville, MD; William Singleton Hope Lebanon Lodge #7, Washington, DC; Scottish Rite Bodies, Washington, DC and Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Montgomery Forest. He retired from Washington Gas Light Co. and continued in the family real estate business. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD (Valet Parking), Sunday, January 27, 2019, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019 at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Immediately following the burial, there will be a reception at the American Legion Post #268 in Wheaton.
