THOMAS N. MURPHY (Age 65)
On Sunday, July 1, 2018, of Wheaton, MD. Beloved son of the late Thomas J. and Helen W. Murphy; brother of Maureen A. Murphy and Shawn J. (Hilary) Murphy; uncle of Kevin (Adriana) and Kelly (Kevin) Robinson. Tom was a faithful member of St. Catherine Laboure and an active member of the Knights of Columbus-Rosensteel Council. He was an avid fan of Washington sports teams and enjoyed summers at Dewey Beach with his many friends. Relatives and friends may call at Collins Funeral Home, 500 University Boulevard West, Silver Spring, MD, (Valet Parking), Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Catherine Laboure Church, Veirs Mill & Claridge Roads, Wheaton, MD, on Monday, July 9, at 11 a.m. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation at www.pulmonaryfibrosis.orgwww.COLLINSFUNERALHOME.com

Shawn and family I was sad to learn of Tom's passing. I have many happy summer memories at Dewey Beach spent with the Murphy boys. I also remember attending and watching Maryland basketball games with Tom. Tom was a true friend, always ready to help. I'll miss his friendship. Tom was a great person and supporter of St. Catherine's CYO and Rummage Sales. He is probably handling all the sports equipment in heaven. We will miss seeing him. Peace be with him.

Tom was the best equipment manager for the CYO. He was patient with the kids (and coaches) and would add humor to our CYO board meetings. I will miss seeing Tom at the 7:00 A.M. Mass.
