His birth occured at the height of WWII in the Pacific and the family's house was burned down when Vic was an infant. The family was able to emigrate to the U.S. when Vic was 5, first to Brooklyn, NY and then to Washington, DC where Vic graduated from Western High School and George Washington University where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Psi Chi, the psychology honor society. He attended graduate school at the University of Wisconsin and earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the Catholic University of America. Vic subsequently opened a private practice of clinical psychology with offices in Annandale, VA and Manassas, VA where he specialized in individual psychotherapy and psychological and neuropsychological testing. He retired in 2010 for health reasons. Opera and tennis were Vic's passions and he was an enthusiastic amateur potter, pottery collector, and traveler. In addition to his wife, Vic leaves a son, Alex Chamandy of Arlington; a sister, Toni Khoury of Ft. Lee, NJ; a brother, Joe Chamandy of SIlver Spring, MD; as well as many loving family members, friends and grateful patients.
