Aimée Kane  

On June 9, 2018, Aimée Kane (nee Evers); beloved wife of Howard Kane; devoted mother of Robert Kane and Samuel Kane; dear sister of Wendy (Michael) Gordon and Marcia (Joel) Levy; loving daughter of Anita and the late Willi Evers.
Born on September 2, 1960 in Cherry Hill, NJ, Aimée graduated with honors from Jamesville- DeWitt High School in DeWitt, NY in 1978. Her love of and excellence in science brought her to Cornell University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Biological Sciences in 1982. She enrolled in the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and graduated with a Doctorate in Optometry in 1986. She served as a staff Optometrist at the Columbia Medical Plan for several years and for the last three years joined her husband Howard in practice at the Montgomery Eye Physicians and Surgeons, Rockville, MD. She was an active participant in overseas medical missions, the first coming as a student in 1985 with SOSH (Student Optometric Service to Haiti) and again in 2015 to the Dominican Republic with the Paul Chester Children's Hope Foundation. Her love for animals was great and she volunteered weekly for many years at the Howard County Animal Rescue. She loved travel and had the opportunity to take several trips to Europe to spend time with her new grand nephew Timmy in Zurich. She cherished time with her husband Howard and sons Robbie and Sam, especially the summer beach trips.
Funeral services will be held at Temple Isaiah - Fulton, MD, 12200 Scaggsville Road, Fulton, MD 20759 on Wednesday, June 13, at 10:30 a.m. Interment Columbia Memorial Park, 11895 Clarksville Pke, Columbia, MD. Please omit flowers. Contributions in her memory may be sent to The Ruesch Center for the Cure of Gastrointestinal Cancers, Attn: Alex Tauscher, The Ruesch Center, Office of Development, 3300 Whitehaven Street, NW, Suite 4000, Washington, DC 20007. In mourning at 6417 Richardson Farm Lane, Clarksville, MD 21029, through Friday.
