Dr. ARMAND LEO DUMAS, D.D.S., M.S.  

On Saturday, January 7, 2017 Dr. Armand Leo Dumas, D.D.S., M.S. passed away peacefully at home in the presence of his beloved wife of 33 years, Dr. Elia Ivonne Fuentes; his loving children, Christopher and Emily Fuentes Dumas, and Emily's husband, Joshua Andreas. Dr. Dumas was a native of Southbridge, MA and long-time resident of Washington, D.C. A renowned orthodontist for over 40 years, he created many beautiful smiles in his private practice in Rockville, MD. As a full-time professor and Chairman of the Department Of Orthodontics and Graduate Program at Georgetown University, School of Dentistry he passed on his skills to a new generation. Dr. Dumas is survived further by his son, Matthew Dumas (husband of Bobbi Weidel Dumas); his daughter, Sandra Dumas; his brother, Paul Dumas (husband of Claude Dumas); his sister, Theresa St. Martin; his sister-in-law, Jo Dumas (wife of his late brother George); his grandchildren, Brandon and Alec Dumas, and many nephews and nieces. A celebratory Mass will be held at Annunciation Catholic Church, 3810 Massachusetts Ave., NW, Washington, DC 20016, at 11 a.m. on Saturday January 14, with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the , P.O. Box 96011 Washington, DC 20090-6011 or via www.alz.org. Interment will be in a private ceremony at a later date.
