Sent earlier but not sure it got through so I'm rewriting it:
Barbara and I and a third friend traveled through Europe together during the summer of 1960, a memorable experience about which I wrote a short story called "Our Decade," a phrase she used as our ship was pulling out of NY harbor as we were toasting each other with champagne: "This is our decade," she said. As in most things, she was right. The story is in a book of fiction called "Riverside Drive Follies," published a year ago. Barbara was one of the brightest and most interesting people I've ever met and I feel privileged to have shared some time with her. Please accept my condolence to her entire family. Thank you.
