Of Bethesda, Maryland, formerly of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away peacefully in her sleep on the morning of Tuesday May 15, 2018. Mrs. Schuetz was born Feb. 16, 1942, the daughter of John and Novello Schmidt. She earned her Bachelors Degree from Catholic University, and earned her Masters Degree in speech pathology from the University of Maryland. She worked at the American Speech Language and Hearing Association for more than 25 years as a certification specialist. She married Joseph Schuetz on November 19, 1966, in Sharon Pennsylvania, and they settled in Bethesda, Maryland to raise their family. Survivors include three devoted children: David John and his wife Andrea of Centerville, Virginia, Laura Schuetz and her husband Geoff of Norfolk, Virginia, and Bryan Joseph and his wife Georgianna of Washington, D.C.; her loving grandchildren and one more expected next week; and her caring brother Phillip Schmidt and his wife Mary of Masury, Ohio.
Relatives and friends will be received at Pumphrey's Colonial Funeral Home, 300 W. Montgomery Ave., (Rt. 28 just off I-270), Rockville, MD on Friday, May 18, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, where she was a long time parishioner, 9601 Old Georgetown Road, Bethesda, MD on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 9:45 a.m. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery; a reception will follow.
