I am truly sorry I didn't see the notice about Betty; I felt so fondly of her and Burt, and her passing is another hard loss for us all. Betty and Burt were among my parents' closest friends (Bill & Kathy Pritchard), and Betty was so kind to me when my own parents died. She will be deeply missed.

Since I arrived in Washington a half-century ago, Betty was my warm companion. We took the first-ever ride on the Metro together, went to League of Women Voters meetings, walked and talked together. In recent years, it was lunches, the Smithsonian Craft Fairs, and book talks.
For joy in her friends, deep thoughts, love of England and beautiful things and her wonderful sons, Betty never failed.
The world is a dull place without her.

Decades ago we were the fortunate neighbors of Betty and Burt and their wonderful sons. We are grateful for that joy and share the sadness of her entire family. Tom and Ellen Ehrlich

Betty and I were friends from childshood. Her Mom and Dad and my parents were friends for years. We both went to Park School, but she graduated several years before I did. We moved to Denver 43 years ago and I lost touch with many old friends. She was a beautiful young girl and a beautiful woman and all who knew her will mourn.

I have been on the staff at the NMWA for 17 years. Your mother was a dedicated volunteer, we were fortunate to have her as part of the museum family. I enjoyed our weekly visits. May you feel peace at this time of sadness and loss.
