MAJOR CHARLES W. HAWLEY

Major Charles W. Hawley, age 95, WWII
P-51 fighter pilot and long-time resident of Vienna, Virginia, died February 20, 2017, at Fairfax Inova Hospital, one month after the loss of his beloved wife, Lilian.

A highly decorated pilot who flew more than 80 sorties in the European theater, Chuck was a caring, noble man who loved his family more than anything in life. He would have been happy had his kids (and their kids) lived under his roof all their lives.

Chuck's first daughter, Noreen, died in 1987. His survivors include daughters, Trish Perry and Donna Hawley; sons, John and Chris Hawley; grandson, Tucker Perry; granddaughter, Stevie (Doug) Theoharis; and great-grandchildren, Bronx Burkart and Vinny Theoharis. A memorial service will be celebrated at St. Mark's Catholic Church in Vienna, VA on March 4 at 11 a.m.
