CLARE WEISSINGER HOOVER  

Clare Weissinger Hoover passed away on August 8, 2018 in Annapolis, Maryland. She was born on March 20th, 1930 to Harry McElroy and Ethel Powers Weissinger in Cary, Mississippi.
 
She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings Charles Hyde (Charlie), Harry McElroy (Bubba), Anne Powers, Spencer Eugene (Bull) and John Leonard, as well as her husband of 26 years, Morgan More Hoover and stepdaughter, Elizabeth Hoover.
 
She attended Cary, MS schools and All Saints Episcopal School in Vicksburg where she received her high school and junior college degrees. Clare continued her education at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, receiving her BA degree in math.
 
She lived most of her life in the Washington, D.C. area. Her career was with NIH (National Institute of Health) working on early versions of computers. She retired in 1995. She enjoyed gardening, crafts, ACC Basketball and spending time with her family.
 
She is survived by her brother Thomas Ransom Weissinger (Jere) of Annapolis, MD and Stepson Morgan Hoover Jr.
 
Funeral and interment services will be held at St. Columba's Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C. on Friday August 17, 2018 at 11 a.m.
 
Memorial contributions may be made to the Cary Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 333 Cary, MS 39054 and/or the Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 276 Rolling Fork, Mississippi 39159.
