DUDLEY G. SKINKER(Age 95)  
On Saturday, January 1, 2011, DUDLEY G. SKINKER of Asbury Methodist Village, Gaithersburg, MD. Loving husband of 65 years to the late Dorothy F. Skinker; beloved father of Dudley G. Skinker, Jr., Gaithersburg, MD, Karen S. Tato, Reston, VA, and Cleveland B. Skinker, Germantown, MD. Six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive him. Dudley was a native Washingtonian, a graduate of Washington's old Central High School and the George Washington University's School of Law. During WWII, he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army's Counter Intelligence Corps both at home and abroad. Overseas, he served in Australia, The Philippines, New Guinea and Japan. After the war, he was a private practice attorney in Washington, D.C. (Poole and Skinker) and was active in the D.C. Bar Assn. serving as Secretary in the 1950's. He was appointed U.S. Marshal for the District of Columbia during the last years of the Eisenhower administration. He worked for 25 years as Secretary to the Court, U.S. Court of Claims and was a member of the G.W.U. Law School faculty for 36 years. He was a life-long Washington Redskins fan, and enjoyed raising and racing thoroughbred horses. He has been a member of the Sixth Presbyterian Church, Washington, D.C., Faith United Methodist Church, Rockville, MD, and Epworth United Methodist Church, Gaithersburg, MD. Friends may call at DeVol Funeral Home, 10 East Deer Park Drive, Gaithersburg, MD on Friday, January 7th, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. with the memorial service to begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to either Children's National Medical Center, 111 Michigan Ave., N.W., Washington, DC 20010 (www.childrensnational.org) or the American Diabetes Association, 1025 Connecticut Ave. N.W., Washington, DC 20036.
