Died peacefully at home, on Saturday, August 25, 2018. Predeceased by his parents, James and Elizabeth Kirby Barnes; brothers, James Barnes Jr. and Larry Barnes; sister, Manverva Barnes; grandson, Frank A. Barnes III. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Ann "Byrd" Barnes; two sons, Frank A. Barnes Jr. (Nneka) and Glenn A. Barnes (Tina); grandchildren, Eriyana, L. Miles Barnes, Frank "Ethan" Barnes and Malinda "Eryn" Barnes; great-grandson, Aiden E. Miles Barnes; sisters, Nan McCrary (Eddie), Nancy Jones (Danny), Liz Bell (Cleo) and Delois Gibson (Floyd) and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Visitation, Thursday, September 6, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at Briscoe-Tonic Funeral Home, 2294 Old Washington Rd., Waldorf, MD 20601, and Friday, September 7, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., at Fort Foote Baptist Church, 8310 Fort Foote Rd., Fort Washington, MD 20744. Entombment Lakemont Memorial Gardens, Davidsonville, MD.
