Sorry to hear of his passing. He delivered my daughter in 1982. I remembered him asking me if I was a Denver Broncos fan since his son played for them. I told him we rooted for the Redskins but that I would root for them if they didn't play each other. And to this day, I do.

My father, Bernard Pollara, and Fred went to medical school together at the University of Minnesota. They also did their internship together in Seattle, WA, both families returning to Minnesota afterwards. Our families spent a lot of time together and many fun summers at Prairie Island. My Mother still talks about the day Karl fell off the dock with his red cowboy hat on and was so proud he didn't get it wet. Fred was my Mother's OB-GYN as well as a good friend to all of us. He was such a kind and gentle person. He was also a very caring man. I will always remember my favorite activity with Fred was baking cakes with cherry frosting. I was so little. He also taught me the proper way to fold socks from the laundry. We all miss him terribly.

Fred acted as a big bro in 1955 as my girl friend and I rode the train to work at Glacier Park Hotel. We were just 17 and he must have been at the U of M. Met son Karl in Denver 1982(?) when he was starting with the Broncos. Shared a picture of his dad as I remembered him then. Such a kind man.
