Gloria M. Kinback

Gloria M. Kinback, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at home in Springfield, Virginia. Gloria was born April 7, 1933 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Eugene and Ann (Popovich) Hynicka. She was a 1951 graduate of Johnstown High School. In May 1952, she graduated from Cambria Rowe Business College where she worked first as a secretary and then as a typing instructor until 1955. She married Harold T. Kinback on his birthday in 1955. She worked as a secretary at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska from 1956 to 1957 and the General Adjustment Bureau in Johnstown, Pennsylvania from 1959 to 1960. From 1960 on, Gloria was a full-time homemaker and enjoyed crafts, puzzles, genealogy research and babysitting her grandchildren. Gloria is survived by her four children Debora Holmes and her husband John, Harold Thomas, Jr. and his wife Havyn, Mary Calloway, and Karen Kress and her husband Tom; nine grandchildren Andrew, Michael, Kyle, Abby, Jeffrey, John (Chris), Samantha, Brett and Ryan; 11 great-grandchildren; and a sister Rebecca (Becky) Hynicka. Gloria was a devoted wife, mother and "gram" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She touched the lives of all those who knew her with her kindness, her giving spirit, her love of family and her beautiful soul. Gloria left a void in many lives with her passing but filled hearts with cherished memories. In lieu of funeral services, and to honor Gloria's life, we ask that all who wish to make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association in her name. No services are planned.
