Jim and I were fraternity brothers at the Missouri School of Mines where we both played saxophone in a dance band. We also fished together in Canada. He was always a true brother and a real friend. He will be greatly missed.

I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Jim Poarch. I worked with Jim until December when I moved back to California. He was a rare intellect and made substantial contributions to the projects in which he was involved. He was also a wonderful speaker and communicated complex topics in a spirited and engaging manner to audiences of diverse backgrounds. He was always approachable and willing to assist others. I miss his witty remarks and sense of humor. He will be sorely missed by his friends and colleagues.

Dr. Poarch was a true Southern Gentleman, I would listen to his many tales of adventure and often wonder if he was pulling my leg, turns out they were all true. His calm manner and knowledge of the business of Intelligence will be greatly missed and impossible to replace. Angel Figueroa, friend and former colleague.
