Joseph Clark  

Joseph Clark of Greenspring Village, Springfield, VA, passed away peacefully September 7, 2018 three months short of his 100th birthday. A devoted husband, Joe is at last with his beloved wife of 72 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Woodhead Clark, who predeceased him. Joe was the devoted father of Darla Clark and adopted daughter Pat Strupp Clark of Burke, Ronnie Clark (wife Susan) of Nokesville, and Barry Clark (wife Sandra) of Woodbridge. Three grandchildren Scott (wife Liz), Becci (husband Gabe), and Zachery. Two great-grandchildren Grayson and Lia. Joe had a deep love of his family, friends and colleagues and he will be long remembered and missed. Joe had a bowling career that culminated with his induction into the Nation's Capital Bowling Hall of Fame in 1993. Joe excelled as a bowler and administrator, managing Bowl American Lanes, Woodbridge, VA from 1966 until his retirement. His forte was instructor with extensive involvement in establishing youth programs. In lieu of flowers and to continue Joe's interest in youth bowling, donations can be made to SMART (youth bowling scholarships):United States Bowling Congress, c/o Northern Virginia High School Students Bowling Boosters, Attn: SMART #9151, 621 Six Flags Drive, Arlington TX 76011. Services are as follows: Visitation on Wednesday, September 12, 6 to 8 p.m. and Funeral Service Thursday, September 13 at 11 a.m. Both will be held at: Mountcastle Torch Funeral Home, 13318 Occoquan Road, Woodbridge VA 22191. Interment to follow at Stonewall Memory Gardens, 12004 Lee Highway Manassas VA 20109.
