Joyce Ann Trickett  
(Age 75)  

Church leader, community volunteer for the poor and homeless, and 35-year government worker, died at Reston Hospital Center July 29, 2018 after a brief illness. She was a lifelong member of the Dranesville Church of the Brethren where she was Leadership Team Chair and served in many ministries, including efforts to feed the homeless in Loudoun County and Washington, DC. She also raised aid for Nigerian Brethren girls kidnapped in 2014 by Boko Haram.
Ms. Trickett was President of the Great Falls Seniors Center and involved with Great Falls Area Ministries. She helped found the Good Shepherd Alliance, a Loudoun County organization for the homeless, and the LINK food pantry in Herndon. She received honors for her work, including mention in the Congressional Record and a Virginia General Assembly commendation - both in 2006.
Ms. Trickett was born in Washington, DC. on November 30, 1942, to Bruce Leigh Trickett and Bessie Catherine Acors. She began government service in 1961 and retired in 1996 from the Defense Mapping Agency. She is survived by a foster brother, Donn Banks.
Guests will be received on Friday, August 17, at Adams-Green Funeral Home, Herndon, VA from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 18, at Herndon United Methodist Church, Herndon, VA. For additional information and condolences visit:
