LASCH KIM LASCH It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a great lady, Anne Kimbrough (Kim, Kimmer, Chief and Nana) Small Lasch who was born on November 16, 1941 and who peacefully passed away on June 7, 2018 surrounded by her family. Kim graduated with an Education Degree from Mercer University. While she was cheerleading at a Basketball game against Florida Southern in 1961, she met the love of her life, Buzz. They married in 1962. Kim quickly became an Army Wife and Mother. While Buzz was deployed twice to Vietnam, or on TDY, Kim became the Chief of the Lasch household. She also loved to mentor and embrace new military wives and their families. Buzz and Kim moved 21 times in 26 years. With each new duty station, Kim would pack up the house, kids, and various pets. She also devoted her time to education with each new move, whether it be teaching 6th graders in North Carolina or soldiers at Big Bend Community College in Germany. The experience of so many moves actually provided Kim with another career that she excelled in besides teaching. Kim worked as a moving consultant for Interstate Van Lines for 18 years and was consistently awarded Top Sales Person for her achievements. Kim enjoyed traveling, reading, music, dancing, cooking, needlepoint, family holidays and boating with Buzz. She and Buzz met numerous folks (or guys and gals - as she would say) throughout their travels and adventures, many of whom they consider family. She made sure that her love of reading and music was passed to her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter, and would always recommend a good book, once she had read it. She is survived by her husband of 55 years and best friend, John Aloysius (Buzz) Lasch III, and her four children, Deborah L. Lasch, John A. Lasch IV and his wife Lora Lasch, Elizabeth A. Lasch Simms and her husband Robert A. Simms, and Sean A. Lasch. Her grandchildren, Jordan Duquette, Jacob Leiker, Bailey Lasch, Beth Lasch, Brandon Lasch, Hayley Simms, Oliver Simms, and Alena Simms, and her great granddaughter, Camrynn Balintfy. Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Miller Funeral Home located at 3200 Golansky Blvd, Woodbridge, VA 22192. Her funeral service will be held Friday, June 15, 2018 at 12:30 p.m. at Elizabeth Anne Seton Church, located at 12805 Valleywood Drive, Lake Ridge, VA 22192.
