Larry Gresham Obituary



GRESHAM LARRY M. GRESHAM (Age 67) Of Dumfries, VA passed away November 7, 2007, at his home. Relatives and friends may visit at Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home, Friday, November 16, 2007, from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, November 17 at Bethel Methodist Church in Fort Deposit, AL, with Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. He will be laid to rest with his family in the church cemetery following the funeral services. Born in Birmingham, Alabama, he was an area resident most of his life. Larry first enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1957 as a telecommunications specialist where he served in Puerto Rico, England and Korea. He rose to the rank of Master Sergeant. While in the Air Force he received the Joint Service Commendation Medal and Meritorious Service Medal. Upon retirement from the Air Force in 1977 he joined ERDA, now known as the Department of Energy. During his over 30 years with the Department he served in many positions rising in rank to the Senior Executive Service as the Deputy Director for Management in the Office of Intelligence and Counterintelligence. He has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards for his accomplishments over the years. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Anita; and their daughter, Sarah Friedlander of West Palm Beach, FL. Larry was also a loving and devoted grandfather of Justin and Sam Friedlander.
