Mrs. Barondes was my Girl Scout leader. Her daughter Debra was in my troop. Mrs. Barondes was the kind of mother everyone should have - supportive, encouraged her children to develop their talents, never missed a rehearsal, concert, or athletic meet. I consider myself fortunate to have known her. I am sending love and prayers to the Barondes family. May her memory live on.

Mrs. Barondes was one of the best mom’s I knew! She was always encouraging with our challenges and endeavors growing up. I attended school with Vicki, and don’t ever recall her mom missing a rehearsal with us. She was always so energetic, and fun to be around. My prayers for your family. I know you will be greatly missed.

To Vicki and your siblings - So sorry to learn of your Mother’s passing - what a terrific photo in The Washington Post!! She was so accomplished in a variety of ways. You all must have many memories to share and cherish....I certainly hope that helps you all get through a terrible time in a very tough year.
Vicki - I grew up near you except on Cavendish Drive and we played indoors, outdoors and definitely attended Brownies and Girl Scouts. I remember seeing The Jungle Book with you and also recall that your parents had a party to celebrate paying off their mortgage. (My folks bought a farm in Loudoun County so I didn’t attend Fort Hunt HS.)
Take care of yourselves!
